Pitt State wins D2 Football Title!

Congratulations to Pittsburg State University, which won the 2011 NCAA Division II Football Championship on Saturday! The Gorillas (13-1) knocked off Wayne State, 35-21, in Birmingham, Alabama.
It was the first time Pittsburg State won the football championship since 1991, and the Gorillas are the 10th school to win two or more Division II titles.
Pittsburg State took control of the game after a special-teams touchdown in the second quarter turned a 14-13 deficit into a 20-14 lead. Aries Herrion returned a blocked field goal 80 yards for a touchdown.
